Years of teaching taught me that understanding something and explaining it are two very different skills. I'm discovering that the same lesson applies to data: good analysis only becomes useful when the person receiving it can understand what it means.

Changing careers doesn't have to mean starting from zero. A reflection on why I don't want my previous career to disappear, and how banking, teaching and running a business continue to shape the analyst I'm becoming.
